Abrasive Wheels Certification


The abrasive wheels course is designed for employees and employers alike who have any form of interaction with abrasive wheels as part of their work. This includes persons who use, selects or attaches abrasive wheels to power tools.


Abrasive wheels are used in various tools and processes, such as disc cutting with angle grinders, wall chasing for conduits, polishing heads, and hand grinding on desk mounted grinding wheels. Each wheel and process have properties to them, as well as  different risks and hazards if used inappropriately.

  • Manufacture of abrasive wheels
  • Component of abrasive wheels
  • Dressing and trueing of abrasive wheels
  • Handling and Storage principles

Course Delivery

  • The course will be taught through classroom-style presentations and practical demonstrations.


Course Length

  • 3 hours.


Course Size

  • Maximum of 10 students for every instructor.

  • Written and practical assessment


Cost

  • €50 per person.


Location

  • Course can be delivered at a PTAS training site or at a location of the client's choosing.


Certification

  • Participants receive a PTAS Certificate of Completion.
