Basic First Aid


Basic First Aid is a streamlined version of the First Aid Responder course designed to give participants a working knowledge of first aid skills.    It is an ideal course for those with little to no prior experience in providing first aid care and organisations that want to provide upskilling for their personnel.



Course Outline


  • Stroke and Cardiac Events
  • AED/Defibrillator Use
  • Common Medical Emergencies
  • Trauma and Bleeding Injury Management
  • Choking and Respiratory Conditions
  • Head Injuries and Concussion
  • Continuous Patient Management
  • Communications and Scene Management


Special considerations can be made for participants with regard to specific risks and issues they may face, for example, construction workers and risks on-site.

Course Delivery

  • The course will be taught through classroom-style presentations and practical demonstrations.


Course Length

  • 4 hours.


Cost

  • €60 per person.


Location

  • Course can be delivered at a PTAS training site or at a location of the client's choosing.


Certification

  • Participants receive a PTAS Certificate of Completion.
